The system allows users to select a desired goal occupation from the O*Net database and either take a self assessment or objective assessment and establish training plans based on the skill gaps identified.

The system is available via the Web, 24 x 7 allowing learners to take courses when and where it's convenient for them. Courses can be taken in One Stop Career Centers, at work, at home, or on the road, any time, day or night as long as an Internet connected computer is available. Consequently, the system matches an individual's schedule, skill level and pace of learning which can increase motivation, knowledge retention and job satisfaction.

In addition to online training, the Metrix Learning platform integrates local job listings which provide job seekers and dislocated workers with access to job openings derived from several of the leading online jobs boards. The system spiders these sites and returns job openings based on the Learners goal occupation and location identifying viable opportunities that are local and targeted.
